Question

How do I delete cached information in IBM Rational Quality Manager?

Cause

Deleting cached information on both the server and client is an important troubleshooting step if you encounter issues such as being unable to access the login page or being unable to log in to IBM Rational Quality Manager. It may also be useful for general troubleshooting. Deleting cached information does not result in any data loss.

Answer

To delete cached information, follow these steps:

  1. With the server running, open this URL: https://rqmServer:port/jazz/admin/cmd/requestReset. You should see this message returned in the web browser: The Jazz Server has been flagged to reset and reload from the configured update-site when it is next restarted.
  2. Stop the IBM Rational Quality Manager server. See: Starting and stopping the Rational Quality Manager Jazz Team Server
  3. If you are using Apache Tomcat, delete the folder:
    <RQM Install Directory>\server\tomcat\work\Catalina


    On a Microsoft Windows server, by default this location is
    C:\Program Files\IBM\RQM20\server\tomcat\work\Catalina

  4. If you are using WebSphere Application Server, delete the folder: <WebSphere Install Directory>\AppServer\profiles\<App Server Name>\temp\<Node name>\<Server name>\jazz_war

    On a Microsoft Windows server, by default this location is C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\AppSrv01\temp\rqmNode01\server1

  5. Clear the browser cache on the client machines.

  8. Verify that your licenses are intact. If not, re-import your licenses. See: Installing license keys
