CachedHeadsUpDisplay.jsp 404 error in sample WebSphere Commerce Gift Center Consultant application

After installing IBM WebSphere Commerce Gift Center and the sample Gift Consultant application successfully, you notice when trying to browse the pages, an exception is seen a 404 error in the SystemOut.log for the file, CachedHeadsUpDisplay.jsp:

Exception thrown : javax.servlet.ServletException: 404


An exception similar to the following is seen in the logs and the pages don't display properly for the sample Gift Consultant application

The CachedHeadsUpDisplay.jsp isn't packaged with the Gift Center sample application. This file must be copied manually to the path seen in the 404 error. The reason the GC application is looking for this file, is because it's finding the feature, 'Heads Up', enabled in the store flow. By default, this feature is enabled for the B2B Direct Store, however the IBM Gift Center sample application includes
sample graphical user interfaces based on the consumer direct sample store.

Resolving the problem

If you intend to use the Heads Up feature, you can deploy the CachedHeadsUpDisplay.jsp to the appropriate directory. Otherwise, disable the Heads Up feature in the WebSphere Commerce accelerator. (Store > Change Flow > Configurable Store Display)
