Reporting Agent for Tivoli Storage Manager start menu entry not removed

This issue can be recreated as follows :

1. Start CandleManage.

cd /opt/tivoli/tsm/reporting/itm/bin
./CandleManage

2. From CandleManage main window, select Reporting Agent for Tivoli Storage Manager, right-click on it and select "Configure".

3. From the "Manage Application Instances" window, select a configured instance and click Remove Instance. The instance is removed.

4. From the CandleManage main window, select Reporting Agent for Tivoli Storage Manager, then right-click it and select Start.

5. From the "Start Reporting Agent for Tivoli Storage Manager" window, the deleted instance is still listed.

The same issue exists with the Stop menu.

This is a known defect with the version of IBM Tivoli Monitoring that is shipped with Tivoli Storage Manager V6.1. This defect is fixed with the version of IBM Tivoli Monitoring that is available with Tivoli Storage Manager V6.2.

For TSM 6.1, this issue can be resolved by completing the following manual steps.

Make a backup copy of any files before you modify or delete them.

1. If the file CANDLEHOME/config/[hostname]_[product code]_[instance name].cfg exists, delete it.
2. If the file CANDLEHOME/config/[product code]_[instance name].config exists, delete it.
3. If the deleted instance is still displayed in CandleManage, complete the following steps:

a. Locate file CANDLEHOME/config/.ConfigData/k[product code]env
b. Open this file
c. Remove all entries that start with the instance name. See the following example.

In this example, the instance name is abc and entries marked red should be removed :
