Unable to create new data source

Question
What else needs to be done in order to allow TBSM Data sources to use MySQL 5.0 ?
 
Cause
MySQL drivers (jdbc driver) used by TBSM are not correct.
 
Answer

Steps to Recreate:
    1. login to TIP as tbsmadmin
    2. Open Service Administration page.
    3. Then select "Data" from the drop down list under service navigation.
    4. Then click the "New" button to create a new data source.
    5. Select MySQL from the drop down enter the pertinent information - user, password, host, port etc.
    6. click the [test] button - and I get the pop-up error


Note - already tried solution given in technote 1283388.

Solution:
TBSM uses the same drivers being used by ITNM (mysql-connector-java-3.1.10-bin.jar).

To resolve this error requires the replacement of the jdbc driver used by TBSM to access your MySQL 5.x DB. To do this, please :
1. Stop TBSM/RAD

2. copy mysql-connector-java-3.1.10-bin.jar
into the directory %TBSM_DATA_SERVER_HOME%\WEB-INF\lib

3. In the file %NCHOME%\etc\rad\RAD_MySQL_DS.ds, please change the line

from : MySQL_DS.MySQL.JDBCDRIVER=org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver

to: xxxxx.MySQL.JDBCDRIVER=com.mysql.jdbc.Driver where xxx is the name of your Data Source

4. Please restart TBSM/RAD

You should now be able to connect to your MySQL V5.x DB using a TBSM Data Source using a long password.
