IBM Rational Rhapsody crashes on performing code generation with dependencies

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

If a main component that refers to another component, which in turn refers to another, then the main component needs to include all other components. If the main component does not refer all other components then Rational Rhapsody crashes on code generation.

Symptom

Crash during Code Generation.

For example:
Component A and component B is library from ProjectA and B respectively. Component B has dependency (Usage) to component A.
Component C has only dependency (Usage) to component B. If component C doesn’t have reference to component A then “code-generation with dependencies” will fail with crash (segmentation fault).
