4.2.0.0-TIV-BSM-IF0004 fails to install

Problem(Abstract)
Trouble implementing BSM patch with TIP fixes.
 
Symptom
When attempting to run the install for the WAS update installer it doesn't work. the UNIX prompt comes back immediately without prompting for a install location or issuing any type of error or warning panel as expected.
 
Resolving the problem
Two possible solutions:
1) If possible, access the system using VNC, and then run
    "./install" which will launch the GUI panels for the installation.

2) If using SSH, then you need to install WUI silently. To do this:
  • you will need to go in the cdimage, and locate 7.0.0.1-WS-UPDI-LinuxIA32.zip.
  • Then extract that zip, and
  • Next find "responsefile.updiinstaller.txt" file in UpdateInstaller directory.
  • Next read the instructions above each parameter in this file, and make the changes so it fits
  • your environment.
  • Save the file when complete.
  • Then, you should be able to launch the installer silently, by using the following command:
    ./install -options <path to responsefile.updiinstaller.txt> -silent
