Traveler Server will not start

Technote (FAQ)

Question

What could be the cause of my Traveler server not starting properly.

Cause

Most often the message that "Lotus Notes Traveler - The Lotus Notes Traveler server had a problem opening the message queue TRAVELER. The error was 0x466" is caused by a previous instance of Traveler not having been shut down entirely. When the new instance starts this message can appear and may also be accompanied by a message in the Domino console indicating an unexpected return code of 1124 and the exception occurring in com.lotus.sync.admin.

Answer

Restarting or rebooting the Traveler server will generally clear this issue up and return to normal function.
