PK Key Discovery fails with an error: "org.jboss.remoting.CannotConnectException: Cannot get connection to server. Problem establishing socket connection for InvokerLocator"

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

While running PF Key analysis on a transformation discovery or a source data discovery project, task fails with an error message

Symptom

Error: "org.jboss.remoting.CannotConnectException: “Cannot get connection to server. Problem establishing socket connection for InvokerLocator [socket://10.220.124.41:3873/]”

Resolving the problem

This error usually occurs that there is contention on the JBOSS port 3873.

To workaround this issue on the command prompt run netstat –a or netstat –b to find out if the port is being used by any other process. If the port is being used by some other process, stop that process.
Restart the Discovery Server Service and Discovery Engine service and rerun the discovery task.
