Problem(Abstract)

After changing Telelogic Focal Point port assignment,the following error occurs HTTP Status 404 - /fp/servlet/Login

Symptom

The following error message is received when changing the Telelogic Focal Point port assignment:

HTTP Status 404 - /fp/servlet/Login

type Status report
message /fp/servlet/Login
description The requested resource (/fp/servlet/Login) is not available.

Apache Tomcat/5.5.15



Cause

The cause of this issue is that there is a missing entry in the pg_hba.conf file.

Diagnosing the problem

To validate this is the cause of the error:

  1. Go to the <Tomcat directory>/logs
  2. Open the stdout.log
  3. Search for the following fatal error message:
    FATAL: no pg_hba.conf entry for host "127.0.0.1", user "postgres", database "focalpoint", SSL off

Resolving the problem

To resolve this error add the following line to the Files\PostgreSQL\xx\data\pg_hba.conf file:
host all all 127.0.0.1/32 md5

The file should now contain two entries similar to below:

host all all 127.0.0.1/32 md5
host all all  555.555.555/32  password

Restart the postgres service and the error should be resolved.
