Collecting data early, even before opening the PMR, helps IBM Support quickly determine if:

- Symptoms match known problems (rediscovery).
- There is a non-defect problem that can be identified and resolved.
- There is a defect that identifies a workaround to reduce severity.
- Locating root cause can speed development of a code fix.
For all Maximo installation related issues please gather the following information and files. This information should then be provided to IBM Maximo Support:
General
Describe details of the issues
- What component is being installed
- What is the business impact of the issue
- Is this issue happening in a test/development environment or a production environment
Configuration Information
- Physical Servers and specs including:
- Processor speed
- Number of processors per server
- Number of physical servers used for Maximo and the middleware components
- Amount of memory on each physical server
- Operating system on each physical server
- Database and version
- Application Server and version
- Network topology, including:
- Is a firewall is employed between any of the servers and/or the Administrative machine
- b. Is a proxy server is employed between any of the servers and/or the Administrative machine
