Problem
Attempts to start an IBM Rational DOORS client results in the error "License Error: Cannot checkout an uncounted license within a Windows Terminal Services guest session."
Symptom
The full error message is as follows:
License Error: Cannot checkout an uncounted license within a Windows Terminal Services guest session.
Fetaure: DOORS
License path: C:\Program Files\IBM\Rational\DEMO_license.dat;
FLEXnet Licensing error: -103,577

Cause
The error is seen when DEMO or stand-alone (Authorized User) license file is being used and trying to launch DOORS from a Remote Desktop Connection.
Demo or stand-alone (Authorized User) licenses are uncounted licenses and cannot be used via a remote desktop connection.
Resolving The Problem
In order to check out DOORS license from a Remote Desktop, you must use a counted floating/server license for DOORS.
