In Notes 8.5 Notes roaming user did not fully support switching between user IDs due to replication issues and downgrades when switching. Several tech notes were written against this issue including the following: Switch ID feature not supported for Roaming Users-- TN 1322853 The Switch ID feature (File - Security - Switch ID) is not supported with roaming user-- TN 1328551
In Notes 8.5.1, the Switch ID task is possible but it is not recommended because the new user will not have access to the old users server based databases on the replication page. If any of the local databases are encrypted, then the new user will not have access to the encrypted local databases and the Notes client may not run properly.
