Are PTFs for COBOL for AIX available on Fix Central?
Answer
The category COBOL for AIX is available under the "Rational" product family on Fix Central.
Brief tutorial
Under 'Product family' select 'Rational', then fill out the three remaining fields with the compiler you are using, the level currently installed on your system, and the platform.
For example:
After you click the "Continue" button, you are presented with the following search page. (Choosing 'Recommended' will show the latest PTF.)
After continuing from the "Identify Fixes" page, you are presented with any available upgrade(s):
Select the PTF(s) you wish to download, then select your download method:
Now you can review your selected download(s). Click on the 'More Information' link to see the ibm.com download page for the fix which contains a list of APARs fix, and the filesets provided. (For the example we've been following, that link will show you the download page for the September 2009 PTF for COBOL for AIX, V3.1. You can also download the fix from that web page.)
