On a 64-bit Linux machine, ilmcheck error message "TOKEN CPLEX on < machine_name > cannot be used for current system type 'linux' "

Technote (FAQ)

Question

On a 64-bit Linux machine why does ilmcheck give me the error message "TOKEN CPLEX on < machine_name > cannot be used for current system type 'linux' "?

Answer

This is a known issue with old versions of the ilmcheck command on 64-bit Linux platforms. The ilmcheck command does not recognize that the machine is 64-bit and treats it as a 32-bit system, giving rise to this message.

To correct this, you can either:

  • Ignore the error message when it occurs: ilmcheck proceeds with all the other checks it normally performs and it should not interfere with the ability to use the product.
  • Upgrade to ILM 2.7
