Remote images are downloaded without selecting "Show Images" in Notes

Problem
In Lotus Notes, you find that remote images are downloaded without selecting the "Show Images" security option when forwarding mail.

Steps to reproduce

1. The preference for Image Security in User Preferences > Mail > Internet is checked for "Do not show remote images without my permission" as shown below:


2. Send the following HTML-coded message from an external email account to the Notes user: -
<html><head></head><body>
Externally hosted image: -
<br/>
<img src="http://www.ibm.com/ibm/history/exhibits/logo/images/920911.jpg" />
</body>
</html>

3. The following will be seen. No remote images will be loaded:


4. Without selecting the "Show Images" option in the graphic above, place the document into edit mode, or select Forward or Forward with Attachments. The remote image is presented in the document editor as shown below:

 
Resolving the problem
The issue is fixed in Notes 8.5.1.
