What are the acceptable characters to use when creating a user accounts on a server?
The acceptable characters for user accounts are:
- Alphabetic (a-z, A-Z)
- Numeric (0-9)
Using other characters (i.e @, %, #, !) to create accounts may result in errors and failure of services for those specific user accounts. This includes remote POP retrieval authentication as well as Internet domain names on the server.
