Problem
Attempts to view MyActivities when using IBM Rational ClearCase Remote Client (CCRC) result in error CRVAP0239E Error: CRVSV0078E Error from RPC server: CRVSV0841E.
Symptom
You get this error when viewing MyActivities from CCRC 7.1.x where Rational ClearCase and Rational ClearQuest are integrated:
CRVAP0239E Error: CRVSV0078E Error from RPC server: CRVSV0841E 'error detected by ClearCase subsystem
Request failed in method UcmStreamProps::fetch_prop with status 1001(file=\nucor\server\stp\TeamCcRpc\ucmstreamprops.cxx, line=301)'
Cause
There is a second Rational ClearQuest database on your Change Management (CM) Server, in a different registered Schema Repository, which has the same name as the Rational ClearQuest database to which the Rational ClearQuest-enabled Unified Change Management (UCM) project is connected.
This is not a supported configuration.
Resolving The Problem
As the CM Server that has Rational ClearCase and Rational ClearQuest integration cannot handle two Rational ClearQuest connections, to solve the issue, you need to remove the connection that is not used by the Rational ClearCase and Rational ClearQuest integration.
If the connection needs to removed, you can perform the following to remove it:
- Open up the Maintenance Tool on the ClearQuest CM server.
Within the Maintenance Tool you should see multiple connections.
- To remove the un-needed connection:
- Right click on the connection.
- Select delete.
This will remove the connection from the Maintenance tool.
- Once done, you can either wait for the Service to refresh (approximately 5 minutes) or stop and then restart the ClearQuest Web and CM server.
Note: The stop and start may not be the best option, as it brings down the server until the services are started again.
