Using File Transfer Edition GUI with MS0T standalone WebSphere MQ Explorer
Technote (troubleshooting)
Problem(Abstract)
The WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition GUI plugin cannot currently be installed automatically into a standalone MQ Explorer (the MS0T SupportPac). This technote describes the steps which enable this combination.
We intend to remove the need for these steps in the future.
Resolving the problem
Install SupportPac MS0T (Windows & Linux)
Install the tools edition of WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition on the same machine as the SupportPac.
Create a file called com.ibm.wmqfte.link in the Standalone Explorer eclipse/links directory. The default location of this directory is "C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\eclipseSDK33\eclipse\links" on Windows and "/opt/mqm/eclipseSDK33/eclipse/links/" on Linux.
Edit the com.ibm.wmqfte.link file to contain the following line:
path=<WMQFTE Tools install location>
(For example on Windows: path=C:/Program Files/IBM/WMQFTE/tools)
Start Explorer and the WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition Explorer plugin should be loaded and identified by the Managed File Transfer node being available.
Note: The path delimiters in the above property must be forward slashes ( / ), regardless of platform.
Product Alias/Synonym
WMQ MQ FTE
