Database can't be open from client & throwing error:- "You are not authorized to access this database"
|
| | | | Problem | Customer registered a generic id & added that generic id to the ACL of the database with Manager access. But from notes client customer can't open this database while logged in with this generic id &
throwing error: "You are not authorized to access this database" | | | | | Diagnosing the problem | - Admin id having same access(manager) and same role as generic id can open this database from notes client.
- This database stored outside of domino data directory, directory link is being used.
- From admin id, when customer logged in , did a cntrl+O, he can see folder(directory link) in "open database" dialog box.
- Same folder(directory link) can't be seen in open database dialog box while logged in through this generic id
- That eventually tells us some restriction was there at folder level(directory link). | | | | | Resolving the problem | Logged on to the server with admin id via admin client & found directory link inside data folder, did update directory link, found admin id & other groups, but did not find this generic id over there.
So, added this generic id in "update link" dialog box & after that customer can open this database from notes client with this generic id | | | | | | | | |
