Archive link in mail file is missing in Notes Standard Configuration after upgrading to 8.5

 Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem
When you upgrade a Lotus Notes 7 client to Lotus Notes 8.5 Standard Configuration, the local replica does not show the Archive link when using the Standard interface. However, the local replica is shown in the Notes Basic client interface.

Server based archives are created with Organizational policies.

Cause
In two cases, lower versions of Domino (7.0.3 and 6.5.6) were running which cannot serve the Java based client feature. Thus the server based archive policy in Notes Standard 8.5 will not function under the old server versions.

Resolving the problem
This issue has been reported to Quality Engineering as SPR# BHUY7RTCQ5.

As a workaround, upgrade the Domino server to match the Notes client version.
