Problem

ANR8300E I/O error on library library-name (OP=8401C058, CC=207, KEY=FF, ASC=FF, ASCQ=FF, SENSE=**NONE**

Symptom

Any attempt to update a drive path fails with ANR8466E: Invalid update request for drive

Diagnosing The Problem

TSM Server attempts to load a volume in a drive
Immediately the following error is received:
ANR8300E I/O error on library library_name (OP=8401C058, CC=207, KEY=FF, ASC=FF, ASCQ=FF, SENSE=**NONE**, Description=Device is not in a state capable of performing request). Refer to Appendix C in the 'Messages' manual for recommended action. (PROCESS: 2)

Followed by the following additional error amd warning:

ANR8381E LTO volume 123456L3 could not be mounted in drive DRIVE3. (PROCESS: 2)
ANR1401W Mount request denied for volume 123456L3 - mount failed. (PROCESS: 2)

Resolving The Problem

Delete all drive and path definitions and redefine them again
