Interim Fix required before using TWSS Presence Web service implementation

Flash (Alert)

Abstract

Interim Fix PK81028 for WebSphere Application Server (WAS) Network Deployment is required if you plan to use the TWSS Presence Web service implementation with WAS version 7.0.0.1, or 7.0.0.3. Refer to the readme for a list of other required interim Fixes.

Content

The readme on the product CD (WebSpheresoftwareforTelecomReadme.html) contains a list of WAS interim Fixes that are required when installing the TWSS product on systems running WAS version 7.0.0.1.

Interim Fix PK81028 is not included in the list. However, it is required if you plan to use the TWSS Parlay X Presence over SIP/IMS Web service implementation.

Without the interim Fix, the following condition will occur: In a two-node cluster environment, the Web service operation getUserPresence on node 1 processes successfully, but the same operation on node 2 will generate a NullPointerException. This occurs because an application session was removed from replication when one of its HTTP sessions was removed. Interim Fix PK81028 resolves this situation.

You can download interim Fix PK81028 from the IBM Support Portal.
