Connecting to Software Update through a third-party gateway

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem

What ports does Lotus Foundations use to connect to Software Update?

Resolving the problem

The Lotus Foundations server must be able to establish a connection to softupdate.net-itech.com on ports 80 and 443. If you have a third-party firewall between Lotus Foundations and the Internet, you must ensure that it allows outgoing connections from the Lotus Foundations server to the above mentioned server on the above mentioned ports.

To test that Software update is available, go to the Software Update section in WebConfig and click on Check Versions. The server should now be able to download a list of available software versions, as well as display correct warranty and licensing status.
