Problem
Adding the Advanced setting RSVP.FILE.EXTENSION.XLS TRUE still sends emails with the MHT extension rather then XLS.
Symptom
File extension still comes through as MHT and not XLS
Resolving The Problem
Add the Advanced Setting at BOTH Dispatcher and Report Service Level.
Steps:
In Server Administration, add "RSVP.FILE.EXTENSION.XLS" parameter to both Dispatcher and ReportService/BatchReportService.
For version 8.3:
Steps:
- Open Cognos Connection.
- Click Tools menu in the portal and select Cognos Server Administration
- Click on Configuration
- Click on 'Dispatchers and Services'
- Click on Properties 'Configuration' toolbar button
- Click on Settings
- Click on Environment Advanced Settings - Edit link
- In the first empty set of boxes, type in the parameter name RSVP.FILE.EXTENSION.XLS and set the value to TRUE
- Press OK.
- Drill down on 'Dispatchers and Services' to the Batch/Report Services
- Click on Properties - Settings - Environment Advanced Settings - Edit
- In the first empty set of boxes, type in the parameter name RSVP.FILE.EXTENSION.XLS and set the value to TRUE
- Press OK.
Restart the service.
For version 8.4:
1. Open Cognos Connection
2. Click Launch and select IBM Cognos Administration
3. Click on Configuration tab
4. Click on Dispatchers and Services
5. Click on 'Configuration' tool button
6. Click on 'Settings'
7. Click on 'Environment: Advanced Settings' - Edit
8. In the first empty set of boxes, type in the parameter name RSVP.FILE.EXTENSION.XLS and set the value to TRUE
9. Press OK
10. Drill down on 'Dispatchers and Services' to the Batch/Report Services
11. Click on Properties - Settings - Environment Advanced Settings - Edit
12. In the first empty set of boxes, type in the parameter name RSVP.FILE.EXTENSION.XLS and set the value to TRUE
13. Press OK
Restart the service
