.pdf attachments sent from SAP to Domino are displaying as .dat attachments

 Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem
SMTP messages with .pdf attachments sent from SAP to your Lotus Domino server are displaying as .dat attachments.

Cause
The outbound MIME content shows a disclaimer being added by the server which is causing the problem. When the disclaimer is removed, the attachments arrive as .pdf attachments as expected.

Resolving the problem
This issue has been reported to Quality Engineering as SPR# PPOR7R5G9D.

As a workaround, remove the server disclaimer and have the disclaimer added by the client.
