Error ANS2820E while performing client backup

Problem(Abstract)

Linux Client backup errors out with the following error:
ANS2820E An interrupt has occurred. The current operation will end and the client will shut down.

Diagnosing the problem

The following errors appear in the client dsmerror.log:

04/02/2009 09:02:47 Signal waiting thread thread, fatal error, signal 11
04/02/2009 10:28:28 Thread creation failed; rc=12.
04/02/2009 10:28:28 Thread creation failed; rc=12.
04/02/2009 10:29:11 ANS2820E An interrupt has occurred. The current operation will end and the client will shut down.
04/02/2009 10:29:11 Signal waiting thread thread, fatal error, signal 11
04/02/2009 13:32:26 thrdmgr.cpp ( 756): Thread creation failed; rc=12.
04/02/2009 13:32:26 thrdmgr.cpp ( 756): Thread creation failed; rc=12.
04/02/2009 13:33:06 ANS2820E An interrupt has occurred. The current operation will end and the client will shut down.

Resolving the problem

Increase the following ulimit on the client:

core file size (blocks, -c) unlimited
stack size (kbytes, -s) unlimited
max user processes (-u) unlimited

Run ulimit -a, to display the current values.
