Menu bar does not appear when accessing a calendar view in Webmail

On your Lotus Domino 8 server, you use the view below to access your mail file:

http://<servername>/mail/ dbname.nsf/($calendar)/?openview

The menu items do not appear across the top in this view. (New/Calendar Format/Tools).
If you use a 7.x server, the menu items appear correctly.

Diagnosing the problem

A custom application is being used which accesses this view.

Resolving the problem

This issue is fixed in Notes and Domino 8.5.1 which also fixes DWA hiding embedded views.

Refer to the Upgrade Central site for details on upgrading Notes/Domino.

In future builds, the following notes.ini parameter will be needed to enable this functionality: DWAUnhideDesignItems=1

As DWA progresses away from webmail components, more may become unavailable. This parameter restores all of the webmail components but does so server-wide causing additional disk reads in DWA.

Note: Some of these menu items have changed between the 7 and 8 releases.

The ini parameter is unnecessary but will be available in 8.5.1 for debugging should DWA hide other Notes components.
