Adapter connects to default Quality Manager project area only

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

For several Rational test products, the test execution adapter can connect to only the default IBM® Rational® Quality Manager project area. These adapters connect to the default project area, even when multiple project areas have been created in Rational Quality Manager.

Cause

Support for multiple project areas has not been added to the adapters of several Rational test products.

Environment

The Rational products that exhibit this behavior include:

  • Rational Functional Tester
  • Rational Performance Tester
  • Rational Service Tester for SOA Quality
  • Rational Robot
  • Rational Test RealTime
  • Rational AppScan Tester Edition

Resolving the problem

There is no workaround for this issue for Rational test tools that do not support multiple project areas. For Rational test tools that support multiple project areas, the project area name is specified as part of the adapter configuration.

Update: This issue has been corrected in Rational Functional Tester 8.0.0.2, Rational Performance Tester 8.1, Rational Service Tester 8.1 and Rational Robot 7.0.3.
