Problem

IQDIO Device fails to start with message TCPIP message EZZ4308I ERROR: CODE=8010002A and VTAM message IST1631I QDIO DEVICE PATH INVALID

Symptom

Device fails to start with messages:
EZZ4308I ERROR: CODE=8010002A DURING ACTIVATION OF DEVICE devname DIAGNOSTIC CODE: 02
IST1631I trlename SUBCHANNEL cua QDIO DEVICE PATH INVALID

Cause

Subchannels defined for the CHPID are not online.

Diagnosing The Problem

The IST1631I message contains the cua (subchannel address). Use this command to display the status of the subchannel address:


    D U,,,cua,16

Resolving The Problem

Vary the subchannels defined for the IQD CHPID online. If less than 10 subchannels are defined, then all subchannels need to be online. If more than 10 subchannels are defined, the first 10 need to be online. The following command can be used to vary the subchannels online:


    V cua,ONLINE
