Troubleshooting
Problem
We have added a column to my burst table to include burst directories. I have modified the burst report to use the folder path from Cognos Connection folders as the burst key. When this report runs it does not place the various outputs defined in my groups in the appropriate directories/folders in cognos connection, defined in the burst table. When we view the run-history we see an error.
Symptom
RSV-DST-0012
An error occurred while saving the output for the burst instance <name> with the recipients (<recpients>).
Details:
CM-REQ-4192 The property 'recipients' (for an object of class 'Output') is incorrect.
CM-REQ-4158 The search path '/content/folder/[@name='<location>' is invalid.
CM-REQ-4096 The syntax of the search path is incorrect. A class name or star (*) character is missing directly after one of the slash (/) characters in the search
path.'
Cause
The terminology used for bursting can be misleading. The term "Directory" refers to a authentication provider "directory service" directory (typically, the Cognos "directory"). It doesn't refer to computer hard-drive directories or "folders" within Cognos Connection.
Resolving The Problem
Ensure that the recipients are actual recipients (objects from one of the authentication directories).
