Problem
Is there a way to have Page Number of Total Pages displayed in a Cognos Impromptu report?
Example: Page 1 of 20.
Resolving The Problem
The following steps describes how to add Page number and total pages in a Cognos Impromptu Report.
1. To display the page numbering in a report header, select Properties from the Report menu and check Page Header.
2. From the Insert menu select Page Number and insert this into the Header.
3. From the Insert menu select Text Frame and insert this beside the Page Number field. Type 'of' into the text frame.
4. Select More Objects from the Insert Menu and choose Total Pages. Insert this into the Header next to the Text Frame.

Note: This will display Total Pages ??. To remove the words Total Pages double click within the text frame and backspace over to delete them if required.
5. This now display as Page Number of Total Pages

Note: The Total Pages displays as ??.
This is expected. The actual number will be printed out as intended and can be viewed in Print Preview.
