Abstract
In Maximo Base Services 7.1.1.4 fixpack, a new ability exists to warn users in advance of the Maximo timeout.
Content
In Maximo Base Services 7.1.1.4 fixpack, a new setting in the webclient.properties file, sessiontimeoutwarningtime, allows administrators to configure how long in minutes before actual time-out in web.xml a warning message should appear. By default, the setting will be null, which will indicate 10 minutes, an interval equal to one third the amount of time specified in web.xml. If a 0 is entered, no warning is given prior to logout.
When the webclient.properties file contains a value indicating how many minutes before time-out a warning should appear, a user whose session has been inactive for the specified amount of time will see warning message.
Any user activity resets the session. Inactivity leads to the time-out.
Location of these files example:
C:\Maximo\applications\maximo\properties\webclient.properties
C:\Maximo\deployment folder\web.xml
When changes are made to the web.xml and/or webclient.properties files, the changes will only take effect if the server is restarted, and the .ear files are rebuilt
