Problem
Customer have installed TM1 9.4 (TM1Web) but cannot start TM1Web. The customer get the below error message when attempting to start TM1Web
Symptom
Configuration Error
Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.
Parser Error Message: Unrecognized configuration section 'xhtmlConformance'
Cause
TM1 9.4 requires .NET3.0 and this error occurs if .NET1.1 is installed and used.
Resolving The Problem
Download & install .NET3.0 then go into IIS, and under Websites/Default Web Site/TM1Web properties change the ASP.NET version from 1.1.4322 to 2.0.50727. Then restart the IIS service.
To ensure that the .NET Framework 3.0 is properly installed and registered on your computer, perform these steps:
1. Open a Command Prompt window and change to the following directory:
C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727
2. Execute the following command:
aspnet_regiis.exe -I
If this fails to resolve this problem it is recommended that TM1 9.4 is removed from the system and re-installed to ensure that the software registers the change of the .NET version.
