Troubleshooting
Problem
CA-Datacom ODBC drivers are installed under a user account and modifications to enable the drivers are applied to the user account only. The installation creates both a system and user DSN for your ODBC connection definition. However, the path to the driver install location is only applied to the current user account. If the Impromptu Web Reports service is running under the Local System or any other named user account then they will not have the drivers listed in their PATH environment variable.
Symptom
Unable to Log on to database
or
Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 126 (CA-Datacom/DB).
Resolving The Problem
To allow use of the drivers by other user accounts, change your system environment variable PATH to include the install location of the CA-Datacom drivers.
Steps:- Access the System entry from your Control Panel.
- Select the Advanced tab.
- Click the Environment Variables button.
- In the System Variables section select the PATH variable.
- Click the Edit button.
- At the end of the PATH variable value place a semi-colon character to indicate a new entry and then add the path to your CA-Datacom install location, ie. "C:\CA_APPSW"
- Reboot the system in order for the changes to take effect.
