How to display the name of the measure folder in Cognos 8 studios in another language (Source: Cube)

Resolving The Problem

The language used to display the measure folder depends on either the design language of the Framework Manager model, or the 'Content Language' of the user that creates this package directly from Cognos Connection, or the "Run Locale" of Transformer when creating the package manually by right-clicking the cube and selecting "Publish PowerCube as Data Source and Package...".

Once the package is published, the measure folder name cannot be modified and is displayed the same way by Analysis Studio and Report Studio whatever the end users' Preferences are in Cognos Connection.

Here is how to proceed when publishing a package from an existing cube datasource in Cognos Connection :
- Connect to Cognos Connection as an admin user having the correct "Content Language" defined in 'My Preferences'
- Go to Launch / IBM Cognos Administration
- Select 'Configuration' tab
- Search for the Powerplay cube datasource from which a new localized package has to be created.
- On the right of the line, select "More..."
- Select "Create a Package"
- Once the package created, open it in Analysis Studio or Report Studio to verify that the measure folder is displayed in the correct language :

language=english results in 'Measures'
language=french results in "Mesures'
language=spanish results in 'Medidas'
