User is saving the report output in Excel 2007 format.
Report output is successfully saved on the client desktop but the blank Internet explorer page remains open in the backend. (Please refer to the attachment)
User is using Microsoft Excel 2003 on the client machine and already have Microsoft Office Excel 2007 Compatibility Pack installed which provides file open and save capabilities for the Microsoft Excel 2007 format.

Resolving the problem
It was noted that after upgrading to IE 7 the issue disappeared.
