Problem
Cognos Business Intelligence service fails to start and issues an error
Symptom
cogserver.log file recorded the following error message: CM-CFG-5063 A Content Manager configuration error was detected while connecting to the content store. CM-CFG-5063 A Content Manager configuration error was detected while connecting to the content store. CM-CFG-5137 Content Manager was unable to complete the initialization of the content store. For more information, review the log file. Before you restart Content Manager, you might need to re-create the content store database or clean it using dbClean_*.sql.
Resolving The Problem
Have the Database Administrator run the dbClean_*.sql on the Content Store database or delete and create a new one.
NOTE: Running this script will delete all Cognos Content in Cognos Connection.
Steps for sql script:
- Stop all Cognos Services.
- Have the DBA make a back up the Content Store.
- Have the DBA run the install_path\configuration\schemas\content\dbVendor\dbClean_dbVendor.sql script on the Content Store database.
- Start the Cognos with Cognos Configuration.
