Troubleshooting
Problem
When you make numerous server configuration changes to individual services i.e. increasing High/Low Affinity, # of Processes etc., you cannot export them when performing a full contentstore deployment. How can you export/import the whole of the server configuration settings?
Resolving The Problem
Add the following Advanced Setting to the CM Service (you will need set policy rights):
CM.DEPLOYMENTINCLUDECONFIGURATION
Steps:
- On the portal toolbar, click IBM Cognos Administration.
- Under Configuration, select Dispatchers and Services, and click on your dispatcher.
- Find the Content ManagerService, click More... and then Set properties.
- Click Settings, then Edit... next to Advanced settings.
- Select the Override the settings acquired from the parent entry check box.
- In the Parameter column that appears, type the following in uppercase:
CM.DEPLOYMENTINCLUDECONFIGURATION - In the Value column, type: true
- Click OK to finish.
- Restart your Cognos services and then perform your full contentstore export. When you then import this into a new or the same server, it will retain the server settings as previously set before the export.
