Problem

How do you create an outer join in Report Studio using IBM Cognos Business Intelligence?

Resolving The Problem

There are two files attached to this document.

1) A copy of the report specification which runs against the Go Sales and Retailers sample data
2) Screen shots of the main properties and objects that must be set including a screen shot of the final Result set.

The final result set is all Golf Equipment listed, with the quantity sold for the month of February 2006, regardless if there was a sale or not.

In February of 2006, 13 of the possible 15 products names under the Golf Equipment Product Line had sales. This report lists all 15 product names and indicates Zero quantity sold for the two product names which did not have any sales for this period.
