Unable to see the newly added custom fonts in Report Studio

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

After adding new fonts in the operating system and then adding them to Cognos Configuration, unable to see the font name in Report Studio when trying to change a font.

Resolving the problem

Add the descriptor name of the new font(s) in Cognos Configuration. Do not use the name of the font files.

Steps:1. Start Cognos Configuration.

2. In the Actions menu, click Edit Global Configuration.

3. In the Fonts tab, under Supported Font Name, ensure that the font descriptor name is used and not the file name of the binary font file(s).

For example, if add a bar code font called "Free 3 of 9" using the filename "FRE3OF9X.TTF", be sure that under Supported Font Name, you click Add and then enter the font descriptor name, that is, "Free 3 of 9" and not "FRE3OF9X.TTF", which is the font file name. The font name can be found by opening the font file TTF in a text editor. It will be listed under "Typeface name".
