PTF UK78191 for apar PM59285 is now available.

When applying this PTF the following actions are required for
successful application and WMQ/VSE operation.

1. Customize the MQJSETUP.Z sample JCL and submit job. Then
run CICS transaction MQSU before starting WMQ/VSE.

- or -

Use the UPDATE function of MQPUTIL before starting

2. This PTF introduces new WebSphere MQ programs and
transactions. The definitions for these is provided
with this PTF in part MQJCSD24.Z (for CICS TS).

Your CICS System Programmer will need to update the
CSD used for the WebSphere MQ for z/VSE.

3. Included in this ptf is correction to behavior when
putting message to remote queue specifying queue manager
which is defined as an alias queue manager. Before this
ptf, the message was put to a transmission queue without
an XQH structure before the message. The queue manager
after this ptf will add a 428 byte XQH before the message.
This change was required for the new function added.

NOTE:
When applying this PTF the following actions are required for
successful application and WMQ/VSE operation (note that
documention pertaining to features or corrections introduced
with this PTF are provided in PTF part MQDOCU.Z):

1. This PTF requires changes to the CICS System Definition.
A full CICS TS CSD creation script for MQ/VSE is provided
with this PTF (part MQJCSD.Z for CICS/VSE, and part
MQJCSD24.Z for CICS TS). Your CICS System Programmer will
need to recreate WMQ/VSE CSD entries using the appropriate
script.

2. This PTF requires changes to the CICS Destination Control
Table (DCT). A sample part with relevant WMQ for z/VSE DCT
definitions is provided with this PTF as part MQCICDCT.Z.
Your CICS System Programmer will need to recreate the DCT
for your WMQ for z/VSE CICS system using the sample.

3. This PTF introduces new WMQ system files. CICS
definitions for these are provided with this PTF in part
MQCICFCT.Z (for CICS/VSE) and MQJCSD24.Z (for CICS TS).
Your CICS System Programmer will need to add these
definitions to your WMQ for z/VSE CICS system File
Control Table (FCT) for CICS/VSE users, or your CSD for
CICS TS users.

In addition, these new files must be defined using the
sample MQJQUEUE.Z provided with this PTF, and included in
your CICS startup JCL (part MQJLABEL.Z is provided for
this purpose).

4. Customize the MQJSETUP.Z sample JCL and submit job. Then
run CICS transaction MQSU before starting WMQ/VSE.

- or -

Use the UPDATE function of MQPUTIL before starting
WMQ/VSE. Refer to MQ/VSE System Management Guide for a
description of the UPDATE function.

5. If you are using CICS Web Support with the WMQ/VSE admin
panels then you will have to run MQLOAD job to update the
html source.

- It is recommended that all ptfs are applied. This aids
the change team in problem resolution. The following
documentation will normally be requested,
a) a CICS AUX trace with the problem occuring.
Remember that the MQ/VSE trace points are now
optional. Check the trace flags are set to Y in
the GLOBAL SYSTEM DEFINITIONS.
b) MQPUTIL PRINT LOG
c) MQPUTIL PRINT CONFIG

You may also be required to do MSHP retrace of various
components (Normally LE/VSE, C runtime, Cobol runtime
and WebSphere MQ for z/VSE 3.0.0).

4. Migrating applications using the Message Queue Interface

- If migrating from 1.4,

The structure and layout of the WebSphere MQ for z/VSE
configuration and queue files has changed between 1.4
and 3.0.0 . This will require deletion and recreation
of these files.

The definitions in the configuration file can be
migrated using supplied utilities but the data must
be fully processed before migration can take place.
Procedure for migrating 1.4 to 3.0.0

1) ensure all local and transmission queues are fully
processed with queue depth of zero and that any
required data is backed up
2) stop MQ/VSE system
3) backup your configuration file (MQFCNFG)
4) customize and run MQJMIGR1.Z to produce
WMQZVS.MQOCNFG data set.
5) now follow procedure for new users of the
System Management Guide but after running
MQJCONFG.Z also customize and run MQJMIGR2.Z to
reload your existing definitions to the configuration
file.
6) If you have your own jcl to delete/define queue
files then it has to be modified to change
KEYS(52 0) to KEYS(56 0).
7) recompile all applications using the MQI with LIBDEF
pointing to the 3.0.0 sublibrary.
NOTE: Once linked, these applications CANNOT be used
with MQ/VSE 2.1

- If migrating from 2.1.0 then you must relink applications
which use the MQI with LIBDEF pointing to the 3.0.0
sublibrary.
NOTE: Once linked, these applications CANNOT be used
with MQ/VSE 2.1.0

If any existing applications reference the
MQI-PROC-TRIGGER-STOPPED field (contained within
the CMQTL & CMQCV copybooks) then these references
must be changed to MQI-PROC-TRIGGER-STOP.

- If migrating from 2.1.1 then CICS applications do not need
to be migrated. If batch application was linked in 2.1.1
prior to applying PQ66931 then this batch application can
only connect to queue manager using the default batch
interface indentifier of MQBISERV.

- If migrating from 2.1.2 then CICS applications should not
need to be migrated. If an application does an EXEC LINK
LINK to a program to perform the MQCONN, then all MQI
calls must be done by that program or by programs which
are EXEC CICS LINKed from the program doing the MQCONN.

Correct application design in WebSphere MQ for z/VSE requires
that the MQI calls be done by the program issuing the
MQCONN or by programs EXEC CICS LINKed from this program.

For example:

PROG1 MQCONN
..... MQOPEN
..... MQGET
..... CICS SYNCPOINT
..... MQCLOSE
..... MQDISC
..... EXEC CICS RETURN

or

PROG1 EXEC CICS LINK PROG2

..... PROG2 MQCONN
..... ..... MQOPEN
..... ..... MQGET
..... ..... CICS SYNCPOINT
..... ..... MQCLOSE
..... ..... MQDISC
..... ..... EXEC CICS RETURN

or

PROG1 EXEC CICS LINK PROG2

PROG2 MQCONN
..... ..... EXEC CICS LINK PROG3

..... ..... PROG 3 MQOPEN
..... ..... ..... MQGET
..... ..... ..... CICS SYNCPOINT
..... ..... ..... MQCLOSE
..... ..... ..... EXEC CICS RETURN
..... ..... MQDISC
..... ..... EXEC CICS RETURN
..... EXEC CICS RETURN

In MQSeries for VSE, an application could EXEC CICS LINK to
a program to perform an MQCONN and then EXEC CICS RETURN and
use the connection handle to perform other MQI calls in the
calling program or perform EXEC CICS LINKed to other
programs.

To allow the same behavior, installation compatibility mode
can be set in the configuration file by specifying
SET QM-COMPAT-MODE ENABLED as statement preceding the
SYSIN.Z statements when updating the configuration file.

For example:
// DLBL LOADFL,'wmqzvse.mqfsset',,VSAM,CAT=?cat-name?
// EXEC IESVSMLD,SIZE=AUTO
80,E,LOADFL
SET QM-COMPAT-MODE ENABLED
* $$ SLI MEM=SYSIN.Z,S=prd2.wmqzvse
/*

or

// DLBL CONFIG,'wmqzvse.mqfcnfg',,VSAM,CAT=VSESPUC
// LIBDEF PHASE,SEARCH=(prd2.wmqzvse,prd2.sceebase)
// ASSGN SYS005,SYSLST
// EXEC MQPUTIL,SIZE=MQPUTIL
UPDATE
SET QM-COMPAT-MODE ENABLED
* $$ SLI MEM=SYSIN.Z,S=prd2.wmqzvse
/*

5. TCP/IP for VSE

Refer to following web page for more details of
TCP/IP for VSE apars

TCP/IP for VSE apars

- The TCP/IP for VSE partition being used with WebSphere MQ
for z/VSE should be allocated a high priority (ie same as
VTAM) to avoid any timing problems with TCP/IP for VSE.

- Info Apars
II11362 - Auto FTP, TCP/IP User's Guide
II11596 - New FTP batch feature with PQ20942
II11836 - TCP/IP FOR VSE C-LE INTERFACE INFORMATION
II12448 - LIBDEF SETTINGS FOR LE PROGRAMS USING
TCP/IP SOCKET INTERFACE
II12617 - OPTION SYSPARM SETTING FOR USE WITH
TCP/IP FOR VSE

Refer to Info Apar II11836 for instructions on how to
start a socket trace.

- Multiple instances of TCP/IP for VSE

When you start the TCP/IP partition, you will specific
an ID as a parameter. eg.

// EXEC IPNET,SIZE=IPNET,PARM='ID=nn'

The default for nn is '00'. If you are running multiple
TCP/IP instances, the ID value will vary. If, for example,
you are running two instances, 00 and 01, and you want
MQSeries for VSE to use the 01 instance, you need to
include a SYSPARM card in your CICS startup JCL (for the
CICS that hosts MQSeries). eg.

// OPTION SYSPARM='01'

7. Common PTF action: Run MQJSETUP and MQSU or MQPUTIL UPDATE

WMQZVSE uses panel and message text stored in the
configuration file. Any changes made to this text
is shipped via PTF in librarian part SYSIN.Z . To
load these changes to the configuration file, batch
job MQJSETUP has to be run to load the contents of
this librarian member into the VSAM ESDS file (MQFSSET)
and then CICS transaction MQSU has to be run to read
the contents of MQFSSET and update the configuration
file. When MQSU completes the number of records read
from MQFSSET will be displayed.

At PM96504/UI12222 level, this number should be 7483
plus any SET override statements.

NOTE: MQSU now has optional parameter UC to allow all
administrator panel and SYSTEM.LOG message text
to be folded to upper case.

The UPDATE function of MQPUTIL allows the update of
the configuration file to be done in batch. The batch
job must have exclusive update access to the configuration
file
(ie WebSphere MQ for z/VSE system using the configuration
file cannot be active and the file cannot be open
in CICS).

By default the UPDATE function will read the SYSIN.Z
from SYSIPT data following the function request. The
data can also be read from the MQFSSET file that is
created and loaded by the MQJSETUP job.

The following 5 fields can be customized without having
to edit the SYSIN.Z member by specifying SET statements
to precede the SYSIN.Z statements,

DATE
QM-SUBSYSID
QM-STATUS-SECURITY
QM-AUDIT-SECURITY
QM-COMPAT-MODE

e.g.

// DLBL CONFIG,'wmqzvse.mqfcnfg',,VSAM,CAT=VSESPUC
// LIBDEF PHASE,SEARCH=(prd2.wmqzvse,prd2.sceebase)
// ASSGN SYS005,SYSLST
// EXEC MQPUTIL,SIZE=MQPUTIL
UPDATE
SET DATE 02
SET QM-STATUS-SECURITY ENABLED
SET QM-AUDIT-SECURITY ENABLED
* $$ SLI MEM=SYSIN.Z,S=prd2.wmqzvse
/*

Refer to the WebSphere MQ for z/VSE System Management
Guide GC34-6981 for UPDATE command syntax.

Sample JCL.
a) using POWER SLI to include SYSIN.Z data to be read
from SYSIPT

// DLBL CONFIG,'wmqzvse.mqfcnfg',,VSAM,CAT=VSESPUC
// LIBDEF PHASE,SEARCH=(prd2.wmqzvse,prd2.sceebase)
// ASSGN SYS005,SYSLST
// EXEC MQPUTIL,SIZE=MQPUTIL
UPDATE
* $$ SLI MEM=SYSIN.Z,S=prd2.wmqzvse
/*

b) using MQFSSET to provide input from MQFSSET file.
Fields marked with ?vol-id?, ?cat-id? or ?cat-name?
must be modified to suit the user specifications.

// EXEC IDCAMS,SIZE=AUTO
DELETE (wmqzvse.MQFSSET) CL NOERASE PURGE -
CATALOG(?cat-id?)
SET MAXCC = 0
DEF CLUSTER(NAME(wmqzvse.MQFSSET) -
FILE(MQFSSET) -
VOL(?vol-id?) -
RECORDS (6600 100) -
RECORDSIZE (80 80) -
NONINDEXED -
SHR(2)) -
DATA (NAME (wmqzvse.MQFSSET.DATA) CISZ(4096)) -
CATALOG(?cat-id?)
/*
// DLBL LOADFL,'wmqzvse.MQFSSET',,VSAM,CAT=?cat-name?
// EXEC IESVSMLD,SIZE=AUTO
80,E,LOADFL
* $$ SLI MEM=SYSIN.Z,S=prd2.wmqzvse
/*
// DLBL CONFIG,'wmqzvse.mqfcnfg',,VSAM,CAT=?cat-name?
// DLBL MQFSSET,'wmqzvse.mqfsset',,VSAM,CAT=?cat-name?
// LIBDEF PHASE,SEARCH=(prd2.wmqzvse,prd2.sceebase)
// ASSGN SYS005,SYSLST
// EXEC MQPUTIL,SIZE=MQPUTIL
UPDATE FROM MQFSSET
/*

If changes are made to the master terminal panels and
you are using the CICS Web Support to run the master
terminal applications in a browser then you may be
requested to reload the HTML source from librarian
member MQHTML.Z using following sample job

* $$ JOB JNM=MQLOAD,CLASS=0
* $$ LST CLASS=A,DISP=H
// JOB
// EXEC LIBR
ACC S=library.DFHDOC
* $$ SLI MEM=MQHTML.Z,S=prd2.wmqzvse
/*
/&
* $$ EOJ

9. Date format in admin panels and MQPUTIL PRINT LOG

The date format in the admin panels and messages in the
SYSTEM.LOG can be changed by using the new SET DATE
parameter which can be placed in front of the SYSIN.Z
input as described above in section 7. Common PTF action
The date formats supported are
01 = MM/DD/YYYY
02 = YYYY/MM/DD
03 = YYYY/DD/MM
04 = YYYY/DDD
05 = DD/MM/YYYY
