Is the sample password reset application supported in a production environment?

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem

The Sample Password Reset Application that ships with Notes/Domino 8.5 (PwdResetSample.nsf), contains a sample LotusScript agent called UserPasswordReset that enables users with IDs stored in an ID vault to reset their IBM Lotus Notes passwords from a browser.

Is this sample Password Reset Application supported in a production environment?

Resolving the problem

No. The sample password reset application (PwdResetSample.nsf) is intended as an example for you to customize to suit your needs. A custom self service password reset application is one that you would build for your own environment. When you design your own self-service password reset application, you decide what authentication method is right for your company. The sample password reset application that ships with Domino 8.5 is very simple and it doesn't have any security or error checking built into it. The sample password reset application shipping with Domino 8.5 serves as a simple example only and is not supported "as is" for use in a production environment.
