OnDemand System Log messages 201 and 202.

Question & Answer

Question

I have two DB2® Content Manager OnDemand for z/OS® servers. In the Content Manager OnDemand system log of one server, I see several entries for message numbers 201 and 202 while on the other server there is only message number 201. What triggers messages 201 and 202? Why is 202 only on one server?

Answer

  • Message 201 is automatically issued about every 30 minutes to show the number of concurrently logged on users at that point in time.
  • Message 202 is issued ONLY when the number of concurrent users on the system EXCEEDS the last reported maximum number of concurrent users. The counter for the maximum number of concurrent users is reset to zero each time that the Content Manager OnDemand library server is restarted. After the library server is restarted, there will be many 202 messages because each new user logging on will cause a new maximum to be reached. The maximum users will keep going up until users start logging off. After that, the 202 message will occur less frequently because it will becoming rarer that a new maximum number of concurrent users is reached. The server with the 202 messages may have been restarted much more recently than the server without the 202 message.
