Question

Can you use FIPS 140-2 approved data encryption for storing passwords in the IBM Rational ClearCase UCM integration with IBM Rational ClearQuest?

Answer

The Rational ClearCase UCM integration with Rational ClearQuest does not use FIPS 140-2 approved data encryption when storing passwords.

Rational ClearQuest provides FIPS 140-2 approved data encryption when enabled in FL7 databases.
