Issues after upgrading the design of mail files from dwa7.ntf (7.0.2 English) to mail8.ntf (8.0.2 Spanish)

Problem
As the system administrator for your Notes/Domino environment, you upgrade a user's mail file template from dwa7.ntf to mail8.ntf and either receive an "illegal circular use" error message, or find the mail rules folder is empty, or have an incorrect design.
Symptom
Depending on the procedure and template used to do the upgrade, users will experience one or more of the following symptoms:
Error: "Illegal circular USE: DocExpProcessing" when opening the mail file
Previously created rules (when mail file was in dwa7.ntf) disappear
The Rules folder appears with the Inbox design if “load convert –u” command was issued
Environment
Original mail file running template dwa7.ntf 702 English
Converting to template mail8.ntf 802 English/Spanish
Resolving the problem
This issue is now fixed in Lotus Notes and Domino 8.5.1.
Refer to the Upgrade Central site for details on upgrading Notes/Domino.
To workaround this problem :
Upgrade the design of the mailfile using the Convert tool as documented.
To do so, in the Domino console issue “load convert -u mailfile * mail8.ntf “
Run the Design task (issue "load design" in the Domino console)
