How can I use an alternate Java Virtual machine (JVM) to launch the IBM Rational Team Concert Client?
Answer
To specify an alternative Java Virtual machine:
- Go to <Rational_TeamConcert_Client_Install_Dir>client/eclipse directory.
- Make a backup Copy of the original eclipse.ini file in order to be able to revert back your changes.
- Edit the file eclipse.ini.
- Replace the line -vm D:\a\TeamConcert\jdk\jre\bin with the path to the alternate JVM:
-vm <path_to_alternate_jvm>
Notes: if using a Sun JVM, remove any IBM JVM argument (ex: -Xjit:exclude={com/ibm/team/coverage/internal/common/report/SourceElementInfo.write*} - See attached sample eclipse.ini file below.
- Save your changes.
- Launch the Rational Team Concert Client.
