Operating System and other Requirements
64-bit: 1.4GHz (x64 processor)
  • Recommended: 2GHz or faster

Minimum memory and space requirements:
  • 1 GB of memory
  • 100 MB of available disk space
Supported versions of Microsoft Windows:
  • Windows 2012 Server Essential Edition (64-bit), all SPs supported
  • Windows 2012 Server Standard Edition (64-bit), all SPs supported
  • Windows 2012 Server Datacenter Edition (64-bit), all SPs supported
  • Windows 2008 Server Standard Edition (64-bit), all SPs supported
  • Windows 2008 Server Enterprise Edition (64-bit), all SPs supported
  • Windows 2008 Server R2 Standard Edition (64-bit), all SPs supported
  • Windows 2008 Server R2 Enterprise Edition (64-bit), all SPs supported

Supported versions of Tivoli Storage Manager Windows backup-archive client and Tivoli Storage Manager Windows API Client:
  • The Tivoli Storage Manager V6.4 Windows backup-archive & API client at the same PTF level as the HSM for Windows client, or at a greater PTF level than the HSM for Windows client.

The HSM for Windows client supports installations on a Microsoft cluster (MSCS) environment

With HSM for Windows client version 6.1.3.0 and 6.1.3.1 (inclusive):
  • The Tivoli Storage Manager V6.1 Windows backup-archive & API client at the same PTF level as the HSM for Windows client, or at a greater PTF level than the HSM for Windows client.
With HSM for Windows client version 6.1.3.2 or higher:
  • The Tivoli Storage Manager V6.1 Windows backup-archive & API client at the same PTF level as the HSM for Windows client, or at a greater PTF level than the HSM for Windows client or
  • The Tivoli Storage Manager V6.2 Windows backup-archive & API client
Note: If you migrated data using the Tivoli Storage Manager V6.2 API client, you cannot recall or retrieve that data using the V6.1 API client

This release has reached End-Of-Support (EOS) on April 30, 2012, and will reach End-of-Life (EOL) on April 30, 2014.

  • Recommended: 550 MHz or faster

Minimum memory and space requirements:
  • 512 MB of memory
  • 50 MB of available disk space

Note: More RAM is recommended for large numbers of files. For example, a migration operation that contains 1,000,000 files should be performed with at least 1 GB of RAM for best performance.		 Supported versions of Microsoft Windows (with NTFS 5):
  • Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition (32-bit), all SPs supported
  • Windows 2003 Server R2 Standard Edition (32-bit), all SPs supported
  • Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition (32-bit), all SPs supported
  • Windows 2003 Server R2 Enterprise Edition (32-bit), all SPs supported

Minimum memory and space requirements:
  • 256 MB of memory
  • 25 MB of available disk space
