Question
Does Lotus® Sametime® support the use of the Notes®-embedded Sametime client with Citrix Presentation Server (ZenApp) 4.5 and the ICA client that users use through Citrix?
 
Answer
You want to deploy the Notes Standard Configuration client with the Notes-embedded Sametime client on a Citrix Presentation Server (ZenApp) 4.5 server. This deployment will eliminate the need to install the Notes Standard Configuration client with the Notes-embedded Sametime client on every users' workstation.

In Notes deployments integrated into a Citrix environment, for instant messaging, you can use the Notes-embedded Sametime client. Lotus Sametime supports the use of the Notes-embedded Sametime client with Citrix Presentation Server (ZenApp) 4.5 and the ICA client with some limitations.

If you are planning to use instant messaging services in a Citrix environment, note the following:

  • Audio and Video does not function in this environment.
  • Geographic location does not function in this environment.
  • Screen capture does not function in this environment.

Note: IBM® will provide software defect support for Sametime issues in a customer's Citrix environment with the limitation that these Sametime issues are reproducible in a standard Windows® environment. Any issue arising in Citrix implementation of Sametime that cannot be reproduced in a standard Windows environment will not qualify as an IBM issue and will not be supported by IBM. These type of Citrix defects will need to be reported to the Citrix or terminal supplier.
