Technote (FAQ)

Question

How many concurrent Notes® users can I expect to host per Citrix Presentation Server (ZenApp) 4.5 system?

Answer

The amount of concurrent Notes users you expect to host per Citrix Presentation Server (ZenApp) 4.5 system will depend on the client configuration type that you choose to deploy.

Lotus Notes 8.0.2 Standard configuration client on Citrix Presentation Server (ZenApp) 4.5

Test System: Testing was carried out on a 32-bit version of Windows 2003 SP2, on an IBM x3650 machine with 4GB of RAM and a Dual Core CPU, RAID 5 SCSI Disks running at 15K, and a CPU utilization management feature setting on the Citrix server described here: http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX106021&searchID=21235741

Users support: The number of users supported by the hardware above was 26 users.

Memory footprint: The memory footprint consumed by the Lotus Notes 8.0.2 Standard Configuration client was measured at an average of 140MB per user.

Lotus Notes 8.0.2 Basic Configuration client on Citrix Presentation Server (ZenApp) 4.5

Users support: The number of users supported by the hardware above was 45 users.

Memory footprint: The memory footprint consumed by the Lotus Notes 8.0.2 Basic Configuration client was measured at an average of 75MB per user.

Note: This testing was conducted with only the Notes application running on the system under test. The desktop of the Citrix server was published during this test. Other applications and users accessing the system in addition to your Notes users will affect your actual scalability.
