Resolving the problem
In newer versions of DBs like DB2 8.2 or Oracle 9, 10, security for the directory of the product is made more restricted. RIM connection to such DBs fails because RIM_**_Agent process is issued by "nobody" (UNIX, Linux) or "tmersrvd" and it doesn't have enough permission to access the directory of DB.
Make "nobody" (UNIX, Linux) or "tmersrvd" user belong to group that has enough access rights to DB directory.
